Jabil in Grantsville, Utah is seeking a Copper Brazing Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will perform precision brazing of copper components, interpret blueprints, operate oxy-fuel torches, and ensure high-quality assembly in production builds.

You will follow brazing procedures, maintain documentation/traceability, support leak/pressure testing and rework verification, and uphold strict safety, cleanliness, and housekeeping in your work area.

Qualifikationen

• Solid understanding of copper brazing processes and applications.
• Proficiency in using oxy-fuel and other torches with precision.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of metal properties to ensure proper bonding.
• Understanding of flux behavior and its role in joint prep and filler flow.
• Familiarity with induction brazing equipment and safe operation.
• Strong commitment to safety procedures and proper equipment use.
• Meticulous work habits to ensure leak-proof joints.
• Fine motor skills for handling small parts and intricate tasks.
• Ability to qualify and maintain brazer qualification to ISO 13585:2012 (or equivalent).
• Follow controlled procedures, complete travelers, and maintain traceability.
• Understand nitrogen purge practices for copper piping as specified.
• Experience diagnosing leaks and performing approved rework.
• Knowledge of common copper brazing filler metals/fluxes and joint fit-up effects.
• Capability to braze in multiple positions within constrained assemblies.

Aufgaben

• Join copper components by heating and applying filler metal to create leak-proof bonds.
• Interpret blueprints and instructions to ensure accurate assembly and placement.
• Operate torches safely, maintaining precise heat control during brazing.
• Prepare and assemble copper pipes and fittings before brazing.
• Follow safety procedures, handle compressed gases, and maintain workspace organization.
• Operate brazing furnaces and related equipment as needed for production.
• Assist with basic equipment maintenance and promote good housekeeping.
• Apply fluxing techniques to remove oxides and aid filler flow.
• Monitor joint temperature visually during brazing.
• Use induction heating as needed as an alternative method.
• Document travelers and inspection results per procedures.
• Keep tubing/lines clean and prevent contamination during assembly.
• Set up and perform dry nitrogen purge during brazing when required.
• Select appropriate filler metals/fluxes based on drawings/specifications.
• Support pressure/leak testing, troubleshoot leaks, and verify repairs.
• Troubleshoot brazing defects and assist root-cause/corrective actions with QA/Engineering.
• Use temperature indicators and measurement tools to ensure repeatable joints.
