Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in the United States, Fort Wayne, Indiana, is seeking an experienced Training Specialist for aircraft maintenance. You will develop and manage technical training programs for service personnel, ensuring courses align with regulatory requirements and company standards.

The role emphasizes coordination with quality and regulatory teams, curriculum development, and hands-on training delivery, with opportunities to advance within a global mobility leader.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years aircraft maintenance work experience or substantiated equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year corporate / commercial jet experience.
  • Experience developing and administering technical training programs.
  • Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relations with regulators and teams.
  • Knowledge of FAR training regulations part 145 and 163.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the timely acquisition of parts and materials needed to service customer aircraft.
  • Plan and forecast part and material requirements and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Facilitate training course scheduling, rooms, and equipment.
  • Develop curriculum, materials, and teaching aids (handbooks, models, videos).
  • Coordinate with quality team on audits and training related issues.
  • Manage inventory of training materials and data entry for training records.
  • Arrange travel for personnel attending off-site training as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

In your role, you will:

  • Ensure the timely acquisition of parts and materials needed to service customer aircraft by planning and forecasting part and material requirements and coordinating acquisition with internal and external suppliers and materials personnel.

  • Facilitate technical training courses and programs, for example, advertising and scheduling of courses, rooms, equipment and coordinating course evaluations
  • Assist in development of curriculum, materials, and teaching aids, for example, training handbooks, demonstration models, video content, and reference workbooks
  • Coordinate with quality team on audits and training related issues
  • Coordinate and maintain inventory of purchased training materials
  • Perform data entry, record keeping, and tracking of personnel training and certification requirements, training attendance, and course evaluations for internal use as well as documented compliance with regulatory agencies and customers
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and accommodations for personnel attending off-site training as required by assigned site
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
How to thrive in this role?
  • You typically a minimum of 3 years aircraft maintenance work experience or substantiated equivalent experience
  • You typically a minimum of 1 year corporate / commercial jet experience
  • You have experience in developing and administering technical training programs
  • You possess interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective working relationships with regulatory agencies and representatives, all levels of management team, suppliers, and other departments and sites throughout Bombardier Aerospace
  • You posssess basic knowledge of heavy maintenance practices within business and/or regional aircraft industry as required by assigned site
  • You possess basic knowledge of training system development and administration principles
  • You have basic knowledge of FAR training regulations part 145 and 163
  • You have working knowledge of training techniques and video production
  • You have working knowledge of education instructional techniques and design
  • You possess planning and organizational skills necessary to plan, prioritize, and coordinate workload within a multiple project setting
  • You have training skills necessary to create, deliver, and evaluate curriculum and materials
  • You have computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, training, email, and web-based applications
  • You have presentation skills
  • You have verbal and written communication skills
Additional /Preferred qualifications
  • Previous experience in video production
  • A&P license
  • Bachelors in a related field (aviation, education, etc)
