Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a capable Operating Room Nurse Leader to manage the surgical board and ensure schedules support customer needs. You will coordinate staffing and resources, direct a multidisciplinary team, and lead patient-care coordination to maintain timely flow and high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include optimizing room use, collaborating with physicians, and reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing or equivalent.
• Five years of prior work experience in OR/PACU.
• Current State of Michigan RN license.
• BLS certification from AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent, valid 60 days beyond start date.

Daily Work Times: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Scheduled Biweekly Hours: 80

Position Summary:

Manages the surgical board. Responsible for ensuring the schedule is developed to support our customers, balancing the schedule with regard to required resources, communication between all the various disciplines, directing staff in order to keep schedule on time and implementing service recovery when necessary. Oversee the nursing plan of care for patients within the assigned unit. Ensures the nursing plan of care meets the physiological and emotional needs of the patients served. Directs patient care through performance and/or leadership of patient care team members and patient care management staff. Assists in the coordination of patient care through the appropriate utilization of all resources; staff, equipment, supplies, etc. As an expert to manage the assigned specialty, is a resource to both the staff and physicians. Assumes accountability for coordination and facilitation of patient flow and processes in collaboration with Patient Care Team Members.

Required:

• Associate’s degree in nursing or equivalent
• Five years of prior work experience in OR/PACU
• Current State of Michigan RN license
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Three years of leadership and/or charge nurse experience
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification
