Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room to deliver quality nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with the healthcare team to uphold professional standards. The RN will direct, coordinate and delegate activities to promote patient and family centered care.

This full-time role requires Michigan RN license, BLS, ACLS by orientation, and NRP by orientation for FBC; on-call and weekend shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification from recognized provider, valid at start and for 60+ days beyond.
• ACLS certification required by end of unit orientation for specified areas.
• NRP certification required by end of unit orientation for FBC.

• Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient.
• Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs.
• Makes appropriate interventions based upon individual patient needs.

Required

• Graduate of a Nursing Program
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date
• ACLS required by end of unit orientation for CCL, PACU, ENDO, IR, ICU, ED, CDU, CSS, CSU, Ambulatory Surgery, and the Step-Down Unit
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required by end of unit orientation for FBC

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Wound Care Certification (WCC/WOCN/CWCA) if working in Wound Care Center preferred, Wound care Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire date
• One year related specialty care experience preferred for: Cardiac Cath Lab, OR/PASS (Post Anesthesia Care Unit), IR (Interventional Radiology), ICU, Endo, or Ambulatory Surgery
