North Carolina A&T State University is seeking a Coordinator of Orientation and Transition Programs to plan, coordinate, and assess new student orientation and transition initiatives. You will work with a team to recruit and develop student leaders, engage families, and ensure smooth onboarding experiences for first-year Aggies.
The role supports data collection, registration processes, and collaboration with university partners to deliver organized, student-centered transition experiences.
Primary Purpose of Position | The Coordinator of Orientation and Transition Programs supports the planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of programs that assist new students and their families in successfully transitioning to North Carolina A&T State University. The position coordinates key operational and programmatic components of new student orientation, transition programming, student‑leader recruitment and development, family engagement, and related first‑year initiatives. The Coordinator assists with orientation registration and communications, program logistics, student‑leader training, campus partner coordination, and data collection. The position works collaboratively with the Director of Orientation and New Student Programs, departmental staff, student leaders, and university partners to deliver organized, engaging, and student‑centered transition experiences.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit | The Office of New Student Programs is housed in the Division of Enrollment Management. New Student Programs strives to help new students make their transition to the university by familiarizing them with the campus and its resources, assisting in the development of skills necessary to make the adjustment to campus life and the Aggie community, increasing their confidence in their abilities to succeed, and instilling a positive outlook on their future as a student. In addition, New Student Programs works with parents (and families) to foster an environment of community support for students.
This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
