Job summary

Cando Rail & Terminals Ltd. in the United States is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our on-site team. You will manage railcar movements, load/unload, and tracking, while preparing reports on yard inventory and inbound/outbound traffic.

The role requires 2–5 years in rail/oil & gas, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft 365. You will mentor Planning Supervisors and participate in customer meetings, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary certification in Office Administration, Business Administration is considered an asset.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Rail, Refinery or similar.
  • Experience with rail industry car inventory management systems is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain files and records related to railcar movements.
  • Manage customer and employee inquiries in a courteous, timely, and professional manner.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports on yard inventory, railcar loading activity, and inbound/outbound traffic.
  • Prepare and distribute KPI reports.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to Planning Supervisors.
  • Complete month-end procedures, including operational estimates for car switching, storage, revenues, and expenses.
  • Participate in on-site and off-site customer meetings and engagements.

Description

The Logistics Coordinator is a self-starter with strong organizational, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills. Working in a fast-paced, customer and employee-oriented environment, this role is responsible for managing the transactions involved in the movement, tracking, reporting, and storage of railcars.

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary certification in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Rail, Refinery or a similar industry.
