Job summary

Cando Rail & Terminals is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator in Geismar, LA. The role involves managing railcar movements, tracking, reporting, and storage, with an emphasis on accuracy and timely communication in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will generate daily yard and traffic reports, analyze data, and mentor Planning Supervisors while collaborating with customers and internal teams. On-site work with opportunities for growth within the expanding US footprint.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Rail, Refinery or a similar industry.
• Experience with rail industry car inventory management systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Post-secondary certification in Office Administration, Business Administration, or related field is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain files and records related to railcar movements.
• Manage customer and employee inquiries in a courteous, timely, and professional manner.
• Prepare and distribute daily reports on yard inventory, railcar loading activity, and inbound/outbound traffic.
• Prepare and distribute KPI reports.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Planning Supervisors.
• Complete month-end procedures including operational estimates for car switching, storage, revenues and expenses.
• Participate in on-site and off-site customer meetings and engagements.

Description

The Logistics Coordinator is a self-starter with strong organizational, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills. Working in a fast-paced, customer and employee-oriented environment, this role is responsible for managing the transactions involved in the movement, tracking, reporting, and storage of railcars.

Education & Experience

• Post-secondary certification in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
