Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking an Inventory Management professional for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00pm - 11:30pm) at the Consumer Health Logistics Center. The role covers material handling, warehousing, transportation, inventory control, and demand/supply planning to minimize costs while meeting service targets.

The position requires 1-2 years of operations or inventory experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of operations experience preferred.
  • High school degree or GED.
  • Previous inventory experience preferred.
  • Comfortable with extensive computer use.
  • Ability to operate quickly and accurately in a distribution environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and verbal communication skills.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic proficiency in English, including reading and writing.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Research and resolve count variances to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Moves inventory locations to maintain efficient operations.
  • Reviews and intervenes on all recall notices for products.
  • Handles expired product return from vendors.
  • Performs daily cycle count reconciliations.
  • Assist vendor in the returns process of damages, overages, and partials.
  • Checks expiration dates on products for correct location and system.
  • Audits and verifies inbound receipt documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Processes inventory moves and adjustments.
  • Works with the operations department to ensure efficiency and accuracy for daily/weekly tasks.
  • Participates in vendor inventory audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Role Overview

What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.

Shift / Location

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm This is an on-site position (5 days per week), based out of the Consumer Health Logistics Center

Responsibilities
  • Research and resolve count variances to ensure accurate inventory records and identify potential areas of improvement in the process.
  • Moves inventory locations as needed to maintain efficient and compliant operations.
  • Reviews, processes and intervenes on all recall notices for products.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of operations experience preferred
  • High school degree or GED
  • Previous Inventory experience preferred
  • Comfortable with extensive computer use

  • Ability to be detail oriented
  • Good written communication skills
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time in a warehouse environment
  • Customer service experience, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Basic proficiency in English, including being able to read and write in English to process documents
  • 1-3 years of inventory related experience, preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment while meeting established performance quotas and attendance requirements.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime as needed.
