Job summary

Brobston Group seeks a Gemstone Acquisition Coordinator to drive high-volume Hardstone product development from concept through production readiness. You will coordinate timelines, procurement, cross-functional reviews, and gemstone quality evaluation while supporting responsible sourcing and commercialization standards.

The role requires strong project management, organizational, communication, and analytical skills, plus proficiency in Excel and a Graduate Gemologist designation is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of gemstone grading laboratory processes and quality standards; proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to photograph gemstones, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to responsible sourcing, confidentiality, security, and company policies.
  • Preferred: Graduate Gemologist designation, colored gemstone or pearl grading experience, familiarity with grading laboratory equipment, and product development or commercialization experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate product development projects, procurement workflows, sampling, timelines, milestones, approvals, and sign-offs.
  • Evaluate samples against approved quality, color, cut, and design parameters; support gemstone grading and maintain product parameter and color control sets.
  • Coordinate supplier communications and partner with Product Development, Jewelry Design, Manufacturing, Operations, and Grading teams.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and development data, monitor priority orders, and help improve workflow and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Identify project risks, resolve obstacles, and follow departmental security, safety, and workplace standards.
