Job Description

We’re currently searching for a Coordinator for Testing Services to join the Services for Students with Disabilities team in Blacksburg, VA to help us advance our mission of inclusion and access for all students.

About the Role
  • You’ll be joining the Services for Students with Disabilities department, focused on determining reasonable accommodations for students in the living and learning environment.
  • You’ll report to the Assistant Director for Testing Services in a regular 12‑month, 100% university staff appointment.
  • You’ll oversee daily operations of the Werth Testing Center.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to grow through a developmental plan with prospects for advancement within the Department and Division.
  • Base compensation ranges from $50,000 to $55,000, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, and Virginia Tech discounts.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with students or providing administrative support in an academic setting.
  • Familiarity with the ADA, Section 504, and other disability laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, intermediate Excel, PowerPoint) and email.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in business, human services, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in disability services or testing accommodations in higher education.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and testing accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of FERPA guidelines.
  • Experience creating accessible materials.
  • Familiarity with accommodation management software such as AIM or RegisterBlast.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Band: 4
  • Overtime Status: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime)
  • Appointment Type: Regular
  • Salary: $50,000 – $55,000
  • Hours per week: 40
  • Review Date: 07/20/2026
