Job summary

University of Montevallo is seeking a position to manage data and technology for the Upward Bound Project, teach and mentor participants, coordinate class schedules, and participate in project planning and activities.

The role includes database management, reporting, class scheduling, and site coordination, with occasional night and weekend hours and travel with students as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Counseling, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of related experience.

  • Reserve rooms.
  • Assist other UB staff and students with technology issues as needed.

  • Plan project activities with UB staff.
  • Manage UB website and social media.
  • Teach development and academic classes to participants.
  • Track participant attendance and participation.
  • Track former participant postsecondary status.
  • Travel with students as needed.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to manage data and technology assets including hardware and software for the Upward Bound Project, teach and provide guidance and development for project participants, coordinate participant and instructor scheduling, and participate in project planning and activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Intermediate knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office 365 apps.
Basic knowledge and skills in Canvas, Adobe Acrobat, and Wordpress;
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Ability to work some night and weekend hours as required.

Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Counseling, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
