Job summary

Johnson County Community College in Overland Park is seeking a Coordinator, Early College Events to oversee and host concurrent enrollment connection programs. Hours 9:00 AM–2:00 PM, Monday–Friday, 25 hours weekly with occasional nights and weekends.

This role collaborates with school districts, coordinates events, and provides data management for high school students earning college credit. Requires an Associate degree and two years coordinating experience, with Excel skills preferred.

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-2:00 PM, occasional nights and weekends, 25 hours per week

Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No

Starting Salary Range: $20.93-$26.94 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary:

Oversee, plan, and host concurrent enrollment connection programs/events that focus on the JCCC Areas of Interest; Collaborate with partnering school districts and work with internal JCCC departments to organize and host activities; Provide logistical support for Early College events; Provide data management for high school students with college credit.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associates in Communications, Business or other relevant field of study and two years of experience in a coordinating role.
  • Experience may substitute for degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Events Coordination, experience with Excel, detail-oriented.
Position details include but are not limited to:
  • Manages the Early College marketing and communication for Career Ready, Dual Degree and College Now students regarding JCCC news or events.
  • Oversees, plans, organizes, and hosts on-campus "connection programs" that focuses on various learning paths, like the JCCC Areas of Interest (Arts & Design; Business, Hospitality & Professional Services; Communication and Language; Education, Humanities & Social Sciences; Healthcare, Public Safety and Wellness; Industrial Trades & Transportation; and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)).
  • Manages the advanced standing credit application process for students obtaining articulated credit, as well as data management for high school students with college credit.
  • Collaborates with contact persons from partnering school districts and works with internal JCCC departments such as Academic Advising, Admissions, Student Life, etc. to organize and host activities/events for middle school and high school populations.
  • Provides event support and oversees tasks such as managing room scheduling, catering, and event logistics for high school student events (Career Ready, Dual Degree, College Now, and Early College Club).
