Job summary

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics seeks a procurement and operations specialist to support North American drayage activities. You will manage truck rate procurement, oversee Compcare/VI activities, and work with finance to reconcile invoices while driving cost reductions.

The role requires knowledge of Hellogic, BI tools, and strong communication. Associates degree and 1–3 years in intermodal/drayage are preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years in intermodal/drayage or seafreight operations preferred.
• Familiar with Hellogic, VI, and Business Objects a plus.
• Knowledge of trucking operations and Incoterms is a plus.

This position has a base compensation range of $25.00 to $30.00. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting truck procurement and functional oversight of drayage operations for North America. Responsible for various tasks associated with truck procurement and operations (rate procurement, execution, completion and billing), in accordance with Hellmann policies and procedures. The incumbent will interact with regional stations/branches within North America, Finance, Pricing, Sales, and other various functions relating to North American drayage activities. In addition, there is frequent communication

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Procurement of truck rates
• Day to day operational management of Compcare / VI – Visual Intermodal (execution, codes, carriers, users, etc.).
• Through measurement and analysis of drayage operations, identify opportunities for process enhancement and cost reduction. Identify best practices throughout North America for quality control activities. Ensure these practices are communicated and implemented where applicable.
• Assist in executing quality control functions (systems and data accuracy) for Compcare / VI (Visual Intermodal).
• Assist in vendor Invoice Reconciliation – Monitor and assist to ensure KPI’s are met.
• Vendor KPI’s - develop, monitor, and report (timely workorder completion, billing, communication, etc).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not supervise any direct reports.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Associate’s Degree (A.A.) from a two-year college preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement
• One to two years’ experience in intermodal/drayage operations or similar preferred
• One to three years’ experience in seafreight operations required
• Solid understanding of processes and systems; knowledge and use of Hellogic, Outlook and Business Objects a plus.
• Experience with compliance related projects desired
• Knowledge of trucking operations a plus
• Prior experience communicating with truckers a plus
