The role develops and monitors conservation programs and ensures compliance with governing state and local agencies and safety standards.

Job Title: Compliance Coordinator

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Executive Dir Panning & Construction Ops

Pay Grade: AP 4

Dept/School: Facilities, Planning & Construction Ops

Length of Contract: 12mos

Date: August 26, 2026

Primary Purpose

The Compliance Coordinator works to establish accountability for energy conservation and overall Compliance at every level in the District. This person is responsible for developing and monitoring the District's conservation and compliance throughout all facilities.

Qualifications

High level people skills who have exhibited ability in planning, organizing and coordinating activities of others in a pleasant and efficient manner. Preferred candidates should have three or more years of administrative or other suitable professional experience or training.

Major Responsibilities And Duties
Basic areas of responsibility include:

Administration and record keeping, accountability, reporting, program implementation, promoting District employee involvement, and maintaining compliance to governing state and local agencies and safety standards.

The candidate must have an independent work ethic, good judgment capabilities, have the ability to maintain positive public relations, and must be persuasive. The candidate must be computer literate, be able to interpret technical data, and demonstrate an ability to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals.

Specific Duties
Publicity and District Involvement:
  • Coordinate with state and local agencies to ensure compliance is met at all District facilities.
Administration And Record Keeping
  • Serve as a District representative at management-level meetings, seminars and conferences relating to compliance needs.
  • Advise, assist and make recommendations to the Executive Director regarding compliance and Workman's Compensation driven repairs.
Energy Conservation
  • Provide input and schedule recommendations for capital projects related to energy conservation and overall compliance.
  • Maintain all energy and water consumption records and data.
  • Work with building and maintenance personnel on proper operation of the systems and equipment. Attend all scheduled in-services on the energy conservation and compliance system.
Accountability And Reporting
  • Report directly to a superior at least monthly as to the status of the District's energyconservation and overall compliance..
  • Report any observed safety hazards to the Executive Director.
Implementation and Compliance:
  • Conduct regular \"walk-through\" audits of all the District's facilities to insure operating efficiency, optimum educational environment, and compliance with the District's needs.
  • Take responsibility for the implementation of weekday, weekend, holiday, and summer shutdown checklists for every building in the District.
  • Ensure the building principal or custodian reads all meters on the same days as utility companies.
  • Implement a night setback program for every building on weeknights, weekends, holidays and summer recess.
  • Ensure that the District is on a proper utility rate schedule and is receiving correct billing.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance Director the installation and/or repairs of energy management systems. Maintain wiring and installation diagrams of the systems.
  • Assist with the design and maintenance of the programming for computerized energy management systems to insure operating efficiency. Update programs as necessary.
  • Assist Facility Project Managers with active maintenance and capital projects as needed.
  • Take an active role in the Integrated Pest Management Plan for the District.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Work is performed in an office (60%) and in the field (40%)
  • Commitment to irregular hours (night, weekend, holiday and summer audits)
  • Must be able to climb, bend, stoop and reach
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods
  • Working in confined spaces is sometimes required
  • Must be able to push, pull or lift at least 25 pounds
  • Must be able to read various forms of written materials including construction drawings and must be able to recognize different signs and symbols
  • Must be able to travel to District Facilities
