Coordinator, Compliance

  • Type of Position: Full Time
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm CT US
  • Location: Fully remote
  • Compensation: $50,000 - $53,000

Greenheart International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to connecting people and the planet to create a more peaceful and sustainable global community. We achieve our goals through programs and initiatives that foster cultural exchange, eco-fair trade, volunteerism, personal development, and environmentalism. Greenheart encompasses two branches: Greenheart Exchange and Greenheart Travel.

The Compliance Department within Greenheart Exchange administers programs in the US for international participants, including BridgeUSA programs designated by the US Department of State such as Secondary High School Exchange, Work and Travel, Trainee (Career Advancement Program), and Teach in the USA.

What we’re looking for:

Our ideal candidate should be organized, research-oriented, and flexible with changing priorities. They should have excellent project management skills and a strong work ethic; able to assimilate information and learn new processes quickly and effectively. In a fast-paced environment, the ability to oversee multiple projects and deadlines is essential.

Responsibilities as a Compliance Coordinator:
  • Facilitate approval processes for various Greenheart exchange programs, including host organizations, schools, families, and local coordinators.
  • Assist with preparing Department of State reports.
  • Assist with record compilation and review for program audits.
  • Review background checks, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain local coordinator training modules.
  • Assist with registration processes across various jurisdictions.
  • Process applications and update participant information in Greenheart’s systems and SEVIS.
  • Create and conduct online training for stakeholders and staff.
  • Review and update existing compliance procedures, timelines, and resources.
  • Track and maintain monitoring lists related to compliance.
  • Provide coverage for the Greenheart Exchange emergency phone, following all emergency procedures as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of work experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Experience managing data and working with customized databases.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and information.
  • Collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and time management skills to handle multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solution-oriented with a desire to propose improvements.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data confidentially.
  • Experience working or volunteering outside the U.S., or in multicultural/multilingual environments, is a plus.
