Job summary

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York is seeking a Coordinator, Client Programs & Events to support planning, coordination, and execution of client-facing events, including CLE programs, seminars, webinars, and receptions.

You will collaborate with Business Development, practice groups, and partners to align event logistics with firm goals, manage registrations, on-site setup, budgets, and post-event reporting across New York and regional offices.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of client-facing events (CLEs, seminars, webinars, receptions).
  • Coordinate client dinners, receptions, and in-house CLE presentations with limited supervision.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and practice groups to align event logistics with firm goals.
  • Manage event registrations, provide RSVP updates, and serve as contact for inquiries.
  • Support on-site event setup and material preparation; staff events on-site.
  • Reconcile post-event attendance, update CRM, report attendance, and collect feedback.
  • Research venues and vendors; develop cost estimates and monitor budgets.
  • Review restaurant agreements and understand firm contracting standards.
  • Research promotional items and client gifts; coordinate ad-hoc mailings and inventory.
  • Contribute to event tracking and data aggregation for reporting.
  • Support adoption of new event-related processes and technology.
  • Ensure CLE accreditation compliance where applicable.
  • Adhere to firm brand and client service standards.
  • Demonstrate strong communication with partners and senior clients.
  • Synthesize information from multiple sources for clear communication.
  • Manage firm resources and comply with policies.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Coordinator, Client Programs & Events. This position will be based in our New York office (hybrid). This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of client-facing events that advance the Firm's business development and marketing objectives, including CLE seminars and webinars, receptions, dinners, and other client engagement functions. The Coordinator primarily supports New York-based programming while also contributing to events across regional offices as part of the Firm's national client events team. This role works closely with the Business Development team, practice groups, partners, and other functional teams to help ensure the seamless delivery of events of all sizes. Assists in the planning, coordination, and execution of client-facing events, including CLE programs, seminars, webinars and other client engagement functions. Coordinates client dinners, reception and in-house CLE presentations with limited supervision. Works as a collaborative member of the Client Programs & Events Team, supporting various team members as needed in both New York and regional offices. Collaborates with Business Development teams and partners to help align event logistics with practice-specific and Firmwide goals. Coordinates event registration for in-person and virtual programs, provides regular RSVP updates, and serves as a point of contact for registration inquiries. Supports on-site event setup, including preparing nametags, program evaluation surveys, printed and digital materials, and staffing events on-site. Reconciles post-event attendance for in-person and virtual events, including updating CRM records, reporting on attendance, and compiling and distributing attendee feedback. Researches restaurants, venues and vendors for dinners and receptions, and presents options that align with firm standards. Develops cost estimates for dinners and receptions, and monitors budgets throughout the planning and execution process. Assists with the review and coordination of restaurant agreements for private dinners and receptions; develops a working understanding of general business terms and Firm contracting standards. Researches promotional items and client gifts, including working with vendors, building estimates, maintaining inventory, and coordinating ad-hoc mailings. Contributes to event tracking and assists with aggregating data for reporting purposes. Supports the adoption and use of new event-related processes, technology, and resources as the team evolves; collaborates closely with the Event Operations team. Supports compliance with CLE accreditation standards across relevant jurisdictions and develops familiarity with state bar requirements. Supports adherence to event standards that reflect the Firm's brand and client service values. Demonstrates strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate productive work relationships across teams and levels, including Firm partners and senior-level clients. Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into clear, effective communications. Manages Firm resources responsibly and complies with Firm operations, policies, and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned to support the Firm's business development and marketing initiatives.

Salary Details

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

Salary Details $80,000 - $90,000
