Job summary

System One is seeking a CAD Drafter in Golden, CO to prepare accurate, detailed drawing packages and bills of material for cooling tower projects. The work covers structural frames, distribution systems, mechanicals, internals and access means.

You will use AutoCAD and MS Excel, create 2D and 3D drawings, and coordinate with engineering staff to resolve issues. This onsite contract may convert to permanent after 90 days, with 40 hours per week and compensation up to $30/hr.

Qualifications

• Associated Degree’s in Drafting / Design and two years of related experience or Bachelor’s in Technical Management, Environmental or Industrial Design with 0 - 2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed drawing packages and complete bills of material for cooling tower projects, including Structural frames, Distribution systems, Mechanical systems, Internals, and Access means.
• Use computer-aided drafting equipment and proprietary design software, Microsoft Office applications, technical handbooks, tables, calculators, and traditional drafting tools such as scales, pencils, protractors, and T-squares.
• Confer with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve problems.
• Draft working drawings, diagrams, specifications or cross-sections of Cooling Tower components, as required for instructions to installation crews.
• Draw master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
• Measure factors that affect installation and arrangement of equipment, such as distances to avoid interferences.
• Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets, then check within the Drafting department and/or management.
• Review completed construction drawings and cost estimates for accuracy and conformity to standards and specifications.
• Interpret specifications, calculating quantities and volumes.
• Explain drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary.
• Supervise and train other technicians and drafters.
• Perform other duties as required.
