Job summary

Kemps is hiring Cooler/Warehouse Operators for the Rockford, IL area to support loading, unloading, and shipping operations. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork within a fast-paced dairy environment.

Shifts run Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Benefits include Health Insurance, 401(k) with company contributions, paid vacation, and growth opportunities within the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in the dairy industry preferred.
• Must be able to perform basic math in all units of measurement.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up loads for shipping and load/unload trailers.
• Move trailers using yard truck and operate forklift with certification.
• Accurately complete all related records and documents.
• Follow SOPs and GMPs to ensure safety and quality.
• Communicate effectively with all departments and meet daily deadlines.
• Work environment includes hot/cold/wet conditions, stairs and elevated surfaces.

Job description

Kemps has immediate job openings for Cooler/ Warehouse Operators to perform an array of functions including setting up loads for shipping, loading and unloading trailers, pulling finished pallets stacker, inventory control, assisting warehouse personnel, and communicating effectively with all departments and meeting daily deadlines.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Use trailer safety automatic wheel chocks
• Take samples for Quality Control Laboratory
• Using the yard truck to move trailers for loading and unloading
• Accurately complete all associated records
• Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
• Comply with SQF and Company Guidelines to produce safe and quality product.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work environment is hot/cold/wet
• Work environment is indoors and outdoors
• Work environment has consistent loud noise
• work environment contains stairs and elevated work surfaces

• 30.36 per hour

SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Saturday 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM

DAYS OFF: Sunday-Monday

Physical Skills Required

• Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for virtually entire shift
• Ability to climb and maintain balance
• Ability to use hands extensively
• Ability to operate forklift with certification

Education Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in the dairy industry preferred
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractionsand decimal
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
• Must be able to push, pull, stand, walk, climb, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to be able to work in a wet environment
• May have some exposure to dust, fumes and cleaning chemicals
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays
