Job summary

Back Alley Bowling is seeking line cooks for a fast-paced kitchen inside a 24-lane bowling center in Glendale, CA. We offer a small menu, but plan expansion as crew grows. Nights and weekends are a must; you will work on the line, prep, and keep stations clean.

Experience preferred; must have CA Food Handler Card and be able to stand long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and thrive under pressure. Join a fun team with opportunities for growth in a busy venue.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must have previous kitchen experience.
• Must possess CA Food Handler Card.
• Must be able to speak and read English.
• Must be able to bend and kneel, lifting objects up to fifty pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• Must be willing to work a variety of shifts: day, night, weekend and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Use scales and other measuring devices to ensure consistent portioning and cost control.
• Observe proper procedures for use of all cooking and preparation equipment.
• Perform food preparation when necessary: chopping, slicing, dicing, mixing, etc.
• Follow all recipes and plate presentations.
• Check temperatures of all food to ensure it is at the proper serving temperature.
• Check temperatures of all equipment on a daily basis.
• Ensure deliveries are checked in and match invoices.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, even during busy times.
• Prep, work on the line and wash dishes.
• Ensure proper labeling of all food (item, date, initials).
• Follow storage standards for food (hierarchy).
• Keep all stations sanitized at all times.
• Comply with health department standards and regulations.
• Practice food handling sanitation and rotation.
• Follow adherence to product quality and portions.
• Be willing to work around grills, broilers, ovens, fryers.
• Practice safety with knives and slicers.
• Communicate with servers, bartenders, and management.

We are seeking line cooks for our kitchen. We currently offer a small, easy menu, but are looking to expand it once we have an established crew. Fast paced, busy kitchen inside our 24 lane bowling center. We also have tons of birthday parties and corporate events. Looking for experienced cooks who are looking for a fun place to work. Nights and Weekends are a must.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Perform food preparation when necessary: such as chopping, slicing, dicing, mixing, etc.

• Check temperatures of all food to ensure it is at the proper serving temperature
• Check temperatures of all equipment on a daily basis (during each shift)
• Ensure any deliveries are checked in, are received in good condition, food items are at proper temperature, and all items on invoice match
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, even during busy times
• Prep, work on the line and wash dishes
• Ensure proper labeling of all food (item, date, initials)
• Follow standards for proper storage of food (food hierarchy)
• Keep all stations sanitized at all times
• Comply with health department standards, upholding these regulations at all times
