Viking Range in Greenwood, MS is seeking a Manufacturing Manager, Cooking to lead the plant floor for residential cooking appliance production. You will drive strategy, capacity planning, safety, and quality while delivering on-time, cost-effective results across sheet-metal fabrication, welding, finishing, and assembly.

You’ll lead a team of managers and supervisors, mentor staff, and partner with Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to sustain lean practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Seven or more years of manufacturing operations experience, including leading supervisors and hourly teams.
• Hands-on leadership in discrete manufacturing (metal fabrication, welding, finishing, assembly).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean principles.
• Proven ability to hit SQDC targets with data.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with root-cause tools.
• Effective communication with floor and senior leadership.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and budgeting.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals.
• Plan production needs and capacity, including labor, equipment, and material requirements, based on forecast.
• Build contingency plans for demand swings, material shortages, and equipment constraints.
• Support new-product introduction: process capability, work instructions, tooling, staffing, and ramp.
• Oversee manufacturing from incoming material readiness through finished-product release, within defined scope.
• Own schedule attainment, line balance, changeovers, and throughput on a high-mix portfolio.
• Ensure efficient, cost-effective production while protecting quality and safety standards.
• Escalate shortages, quality holds, and equipment issues quickly and drive recovery plans.
• Drive first-pass yield, scrap and rework reduction; partner with Quality on inspections and audits.
• Support compliance with product safety and certification requirements for gas/electric cooking appliances.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions (8D/5-Whys).
• Lead or sponsor continuous improvement (lean, 5S, kaizen, SMED).
• Evaluate process technology and automation with clear business case.
• Lead and develop managers/supervisors; set expectations; coach on Gemba.
• Conduct performance evaluations; manage staffing, attendance, overtime, and bench strength.
• Foster a safe, collaborative plant culture where safety and quality come first.
