Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking a kitchen cook to prepare, season, and cook a wide variety of food items according to menus and production sheets while maintaining a clean, sanitary work area. General supervision applies, with training and guidance to others as needed.

The role emphasizes HACCP/food safety, teamwork, and accurate portion control. HS diploma and healthcare/quantity cooking experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required/preferred.
• 2+ years of healthcare experience preferred.
• 2+ years of quantity cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to HACCP/food safety guidelines/policies and procedures.
• Uses proper equipment to produce standard recipes.
• Follows systems to quality processes in food production.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under general supervision, prepares, seasons, and cooks a wide variety of food items in appropriate quantities while following menus, recipes and production sheets while maintaining a clean and sanitary work area. Communicates with other production staff regarding menus, recipes and portion sizes. Provides training and guidance to other employees performing related work.

• Adhere to HACCP/food safety guidelines/policies & procedures
• Utilizes proper equipment to produce standard recipes.
• Utilizes systems to quality process/standards in food production
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate\Equivalent preferred
• 2 + years of experience in healthcare preferred
• 2 + years of experience in quantity cooking Preferred
