We are seeking a Cook to join our team!

Hospital Details

Vibra Hospital of Northern California, located in Redding, CA, is a 50-bed Critical Care Hospital and a 32-bed SNF providing long-term acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Our patients often require additional critical care services for complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation, and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer a fast-paced, friendly work environment where you can get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Performs various duties necessary for the operation of a hospital food service department. Maintains high standards of food quality, nutritional value, sanitation, safety, and presents food in an appetizing manner.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years of experience as a cook will be considered in lieu of education.
• Food handling certification as required by State regulations.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• Culinary arts training preferred.
• Two (2) years of food service experience preferred, including at least one (1) year in an institutional setting.
• Therapeutic Diet experience preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
• Freedom from illegal drug use and effects of substance abuse in the workplace.

The wage range for this role considers factors such as skill sets, experience, education, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. Typically, hires are made below the top of the range. The current estimated range is $21.00/hr to $22.74/hr.
