Job summary

Live Well Healthcare Solutions at Pleasant View Center is seeking a skilled Cook for a high-volume nursing facility kitchen. You will prepare nutritious meals, plate with care, and support the Dietary Manager in their absence.

Responsibilities include sanitation, inventory, recipe management, and catering for special events. Must be available to work every other weekend. We offer PTO and comprehensive insurance for full-time colleagues.

Qualifications

• Classically trained cook with experience in high-volume facilities.
• Experience preparing meals to standardized recipes for multiple daily meals.
• Ability to work weekends on an alternating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation and culinary excellence following standardized recipes.
• Plate and garnish cooked items for attractive presentation.
• Support the Dietary Manager during their absence to ensure continuity.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation standards before and after service.
• Manage inventory, rotate stock, assist with purchasing, and adapt recipes.
• Handle special event requests and facility functions as needed.

Position Overview & Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented, classically trained Cook experienced in high-volume culinary operations to join our team at a Skilled Nursing Facility.

• Meal Preparation & Culinary Excellence: Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, and cook a variety of nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner following standardized recipes.
• Plating & Presentation: Plate and garnish all cooked items expertly to ensure an attractive menu presentation.
• Leadership Support: Act as a liaison for the Dietary Manager during their absence to ensure seamless meal prep and delivery.
• Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain high sanitation standards by thoroughly cleaning the kitchen and all culinary equipment before and after food service.
• Inventory & Recipe Management: Manage inventory, handle stock rotation, assist with purchasing, and ensure recipe development and compliance.
• Special Events: Flexibly handle last-minute culinary requests for special events and facility functions.
