Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking an energetic and motivated COOK (Per Diem) to prepare meals for patients and employees. The role includes coordinating tray services and following provided menus and recipes.

Position Summary

Our COOK (Per Diem) position presents an ideal opportunity for an energetic, motivated individual with prior experience working in a dietary or culinary setting. Prepares meals for patients, employees and special functions according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinates tray service and sets up tray line and cafeteria line for meal service.
2. Follow menus and recipes as provided by the Director of Food & Nutrition Services and Dietician.
3. Accurately prepare food for modified diets, consulting with Dietician as required.
4. Complete and prepare meals in a timely manner as prescribed by posted meal times.
5. Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate/GED (Preferred)
• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Serv Safe Certification: Required.
• Specialized Skills: Knowledge of basic therapeutic diets, food service sanitation, and food portion and waste control.
• Knowledge of industrial kitchen operations and procedures, industrial equipment and utensils, and skill in utilizing such.
• Ability to cook in large quantities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
