The Felician Sisters of North America are hiring a casual Cook for their Maryville Retreat Center in Holly, MI. We are hiring a casual (per diem) Cook to pick up shifts as needed at our Maryville Retreat Center. ** ** ** Overlooking beautiful Lake Elliot, Maryville Retreat Center sits on 240 acres in Holly, MI, and offers an ideal space for conferences, company workshops, and private and group retreats.**
This casual Cook position works under the guidance of the Retreat Director to ensure a delicious and pleasant dining experience for our guests at the retreat center. This position follows recipes and is responsible for prepping and assembling dishes while maintaining a sanitary kitchen.

****General Summary:
****The Cook works independently in the kitchen to prepare and serve food according to established menus, recipes, and sanitary standards. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen during and after all meals and catering events. The Cook will also partner and work alongside the Lead Cook as needed for larger events and activities. We host a variety of receptions, retreats, and special events throughout the year, and we are hiring for this position to ensure that guests enjoy a delicious and memorable meal.
This position requires flexibility to cross-train and assist staff, sisters, and guests in various departments, including housekeeping, dining services, etc. Our employees in all departments work together to support the religious life of the sisters and to create an outstanding guest experience at the retreat center environment.
Education and Experience:
1+ years of professional cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant/food service environment
Familiarity with hospitality, restaurant, or catering operations
High-volume restaurant/food service environment (working in a commercial or institutional food service environment is a PLUS).
High School Diploma or equivalent required; formal education or training in the culinary arts of food services preferred
ServSafe or similar food certification is a plus.
Excellent meal prep skills.
Ability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
