Job description

We are hiring a part-time Cook on afternoons (24 hours per week, 10:30 am—7:00 pm) to provide healthy and homemade meals in a convent home for Franciscan sisters in Buffalo, NY (located near Cheektowaga, on Doat Street and Pine Ridge).

  • A budgeted range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00 for a Cook. **Wage will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's relevant work experience/qualifications, and internal equity.**
  • Schedule - every Sunday / Tuesday / Friday (10:30 am - 7:00 pm)

General Summary:

The Cook’s primary responsibility is to prepare food according to established menus, recipes, and sanitary standards. This position ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local food service standards as well as the organization's policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of food service or restaurant experience (working in a commercial or institutional food service environment is a PLUS).
  • Experience in an Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, hospital or other healthcare environment is preferred but not required. SERV Safe certification preferred.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
