Job summary

Monarch Southbury is seeking a Cook to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our senior living residents, their families and guests. Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services, you will study recipes, set up menus and ensure high-quality dishes with proper sanitation and regulatory compliance.

The position is part-time (Mon/Tue 11:30am-7:30pm and weekends 6am-2pm) with hourly pay of $20.00-$21.00, offering benefits and employee perks.

Qualifications

• Maintains ServSafe certification or can obtain it.
• One year job-related experience including food preparation and handling of special diets.
• High school diploma or GED accepted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve quality meals for residents, families and guests.
• Ensure dietary needs are met and texture-modified foods as directed.
• Maintain records, HACCP compliance, and accurate logs of food storage and temperatures.
• Attend in-service trainings and comply with Federal, State, and local regulations.

Job Description

We are looking for a Cook to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our senior living residents, their families, and guests. Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services, the Cook's responsibilities will include studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes. You should be familiar with sanitation regulations. The Cook will also be responsible for accurate record keeping, receiving, rotating and inventory of products and regulatory compliance. Ultimately, this team member will prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our senior living community.

Part-time: Monday/Tuesday 11:30am-7:30pm andWeekends 6am-2pm

Salary Range: $20.00 - $21.00 Hourly

• Responsibilities and Duties
• Prepare and serving quality meals
• Ensure special dietary needs are met and preparing texture modified food, as directed
• Ensure compliance with all record keeping, food safety and risk management requirements
• Monitor food preparation, storage and handling to ensure adherence with HACCP, labeling, and storage protocols to ensure compliance with all food service regulations and policies
• Maintain accurate hot and cold food, refrigerator, and freezer temperature logs
• Participates in and attends all in-service training as scheduled
• Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

• Competent in organizational, time management skills and demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
