Job summary

Cascades at St. Anne in Seattle, WA is seeking a Part Time Cook for Sunday 6am-6pm. Join a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community that values compassionate care and professional growth.

You will follow recipes, prepare meals for residents, maintain a clean work area, support inspections, and collaborate with the Dietary Manager. A current Food Handlers Permit and English proficiency are required; ServSafe is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handlers Permit is required.
• ServSafe Certification is preferred.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience cooking in a skilled nursing facility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares meals per menu cycle.
• Cooks in institutional quantities maintaining proper temps.
• Adjusts quantities to resident needs to avoid waste.
• Serves meals on time.
• Keeps a clean, organized work area.
• Prepares substitutes to accommodate resident preferences.
• Assists Dietary Manager for inspections and surveys.
• Follows infection control policies at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll do:

• Follows recipes and prepare meals that correspond to the menu cycle
• Cooks or prepares palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities according to census and diet type, that are served at proper temperatures and at proper times
• Adjusts food quantities according to the needs of residents to prevent over/under production of food
• Serves meals on time
• Keeps a clean and organized work area
• Prepares and maintain a supply of food substitutes to accommodate resident's choice and preferences
• Assists Dietary Manager in preparations for inspections and state surveys
• Follows facility policies and procedures for infection control at all times
• Other duties as necessary and assigned.

What we're looking for:

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

• Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting objects
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
