Job summary

Eden Vista Litchfield is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare and present meals in a caring, hospital-style kitchen. You will set up stations, chop and prep ingredients, cook with various methods, and ensure safe handling and sanitation in a busy healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include monitoring stock, dressing plates for service, and keeping a clean, organized kitchen. Prior experience in healthcare food service and ServSafe certification are preferred; strong teamwork and communication

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cook in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• ServSafe certification is preferred.
• Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.).
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Very good communication skills.
• Excellent physical condition and stamina.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.).
• Cook food with various utensils or grillers.
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
• Check the quality of ingredients.
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages.

Position: Cook (Part-time)

• Shift Schedule: 5:30am - 2pm
• Days are: Sat, Sun, Thurs, Mon, tues.
• Total of 40 hours.
