We have an immediate opening for a Part-Time Cook at Highlandspring Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fort Thomas, KY.

You'll be responsible for preparing meals by weighing, measuring, mixing ingredients, cooking, checking freshness, and garnishing dishes. Additionally, you'll ensure the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.

Required thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation. Culinary school education is preferred; prior related experience is an advantage.

$13.75 to $23.00 Per Hour, based on experience and certification.

You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Preparing meals for residents, guests, and staff
• Measuring, mixing, and prepping ingredients according to recipes
• Cooking methods such as steaming, grilling, boiling, baking, or frying
• Checking food for freshness
• Garnishing and presenting dishes
• Working efficiently under pressure
• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and equipment
• Leading and inspiring kitchen staff alongside the Executive Chef
• Plating food according to nutritional and clinical guidelines
• Cleaning work areas and equipment during and after meal prep
• Maintaining kitchen logs and temperature records
• Performing additional duties to support the community's quality of care and service

You’ll Need To Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in food and beverage service and preparation
• Proficiency with kitchen equipment like slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and health codes
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work shifts, holidays, and weekends
