Job summary

Green Valley Rehabilitation Center is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare meals meeting resident dietary specifications, under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager. This full-time role requires adherence to facility procedures, dietary regulations, and high sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals per planned menus, while maintaining food safety and inventory. Requires High school diploma and ServSafe certification; competitive wages are offered along

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Food Handler's permit / ServSafe certification as per State requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies.
  • Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils.
  • Check trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; follow sanitary, safety and infection control policies.
  • Work in a non-temperature regulated environment near ovens and stoves, with entry into walk-in refrigerators/freezers.
  • Ensure food and supplies are available for next meals; assist in inventory and report hazardous conditions, accidents, and incidents.

Summary: The Cook is responsible to prepare food in accordance with prescribed resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager.

Schedule: Full time

Pay: $21.27 - $27.31 per hour

Job Functions

  • Prepare and serve food and meals food in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies.
  • Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils.
  • Check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Be able to work in a non-temperature regulated environment (work near ovens, stoves, enter walk in refrigerators/freezers).
  • Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Food Handler\'s permit / ServSafe certification as per State requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other associates.
