Job summary

Friendship Village in St. Louis is seeking a qualified Cook for our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility. The Cook will prepare all food items per standardized recipes, including soups, stocks, sauteed, fried, and baked items, and determine the amounts and types of food and supplies needed for daily menus.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write in English, perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Minimum three years’ experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.
• Understands basic cooking methods.
• Ability to plan and organize work.
• Ability to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.
• Ability to work with others.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
