Job summary

Arvin Post Acute is seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Cook to join our dietary team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals while following resident dietary requirements, approved menus, and food-safety standards.

The Part-Time Cook will prepare and serve meals, follow special diets, maintain kitchen safety, and assist with service and cleaning. This position offers competitive pay and opportunities for training within a team-oriented facility.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred; healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus.
• Ability to prepare meals in large quantities.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special-diet instructions.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Food handler certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food is presented in an appealing and timely manner
• Record food temperatures and maintain required documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and cooking area

• Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other departments
• Report resident dietary concerns to the appropriate supervisor
