Job summary

Arvin Post Acute is seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Cook to join our dietary team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals while following resident dietary requirements, approved menus, and food-safety standards.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, handling special diets, maintaining sanitation, and collaborating with dietary staff and other departments to ensure timely, compliant meals for residents.

Qualifications

• Prev. cooking experience; healthcare/long-term care a plus.
• Ability to follow recipes and dietary instructions.
• Ability to work in large quantities and maintain sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to approved menus and portion guidelines.
• Accurately prepare special and therapeutic diets.
• Record food temperatures and maintain required documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and cooking area.
• Follow proper food-handling, storage, and infection-control procedures.
• Assist with meal service and cleaning of equipment, work areas, and serving carts.
• Report resident dietary concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow all facility policies and state and federal regulations.
