Job summary

Woodland Estates Senior Living in Denver, CO is seeking a Cook to support nutritious meals for residents and ensure a safe culinary environment per infection-control standards.

You will follow menus, assist during inspections, and work with the Culinary Lead to manage inventory and prep. The role requires 2+ years cooking experience, English proficiency, and ServSafe certification; hospital or SNF cuisine is a plus. Flexible shifts and growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Cook.
  • Must read, write, and speak English.
  • Culinary experience in large quantities.
  • Food Handlers or Serv Safe certification.
  • Experience in hospital or skilled nursing or related medical facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe culinary environment with infection control procedures.
  • Keep kitchen and equipment clean and organized; maintain safe food temperatures.
  • Wash dishes and store properly after meals.
  • Follow provided menus to ensure nutritionally sound meals for residents.
  • Assist in Health Department inspections if required during shift.
  • Prepare nourishing meals using non-processed foods when possible.
  • Report shortages or needs to the Culinary Lead.
  • Report equipment issues to Culinary Lead immediately.
  • May take extra shifts or help with special occasions.

Now Hiring: Cook
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe culinary environment in the facility using strict infection control procedures.

  • Kitchen and equipment will be clean and organized at all times. Safe food temperatures willbe maintained at all times according to regulations.

  • Dishes will be cleaned and properly stored after every meal.

  • Follow the provided food menu for nutritionally sound meals, with the needs andpreferences of the residents kept in mind.

  • Contact the Lead or Resident Services Manager to assist in Health Department inspections ifthey occur on your shift.

  • Prepare and offer nourishing meals and snacks using as many non-processed foods aspossible.

  • Report shortages or needs of snacks or meal ingredients to the Culinary Lead.

  • Report any broken or malfunctioning equipment to Culinary Lead immediately.

  • May be asked to take extra shifts or help with special occasions.

  • This may include earlymorning or evening hours.

Qualifications:
  • Must have 2+ years experience as a Cook.

  • Must be able to write, speak, and read in English.

  • Cook/Dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care home or other related medical facility is preferred but not required.

  • Experience in cooking a variety of food in large quantities.

  • Food Handlers or Serv Safe certification.

  • Experience with food preparation and nutrition.
