Job summary

Melody Living Colorado Springs is actively seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents and guests in our independent living community. You will work in a restaurant-style setting, following established menus and recipes, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen.

This full-time role collaborates with the Culinary Director to deliver a satisfactory dining program for seniors. Qualified candidates will have at least one year of cook experience in hospitality or healthcare, great

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of cook experience in hospitality or healthcare
• Positive, friendly attitude and a desire to work with seniors
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• ANSI-Approved Food Handlers Certificate
• Ability to read and follow recipes, cleaning schedules, and logs
• Ability to work in cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers
• Ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and peers

Responsibilities

Our Independent Living community is looking for Cooks that is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our residents and their guests located in Colorado Springs area.

Full Time Position

Job Responsibilities:

• Providing excellent culinary customer service to our residents in a restaurant-style atmosphere
• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with pre-established menus and recipes
• Maintain kitchen, food storage, and preparation areas in a clean, sanitized, and safe state at all times

Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the work day; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel frequently throughout the work day; may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold from ovens and freezers; must be able to see, hear, and speak; may be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals.
