Job summary

The Addison of St. Johns in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Culinary Services Cook to join our dining team.

You will plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for residents in a high-volume environment, while maintaining safety and sanitation standards across the kitchen and dining room. You’ll work with the Culinary Services Director to drive quality service, train staff as needed, and ensure timely meal delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required.
• Experience with volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves meals in a sanitary, organized manner.
• Assists in maintaining dining services efficiency and standards.
• Prepares meals for assigned shifts and ensures timely service.
• Maintains cleanliness of dining room and kitchen and handles leftovers properly.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
