  • Monitor cooking pressure, temperature and duration to ensure safety and quality.
  • Pull samples and bring to QC for quality checks.
  • Collaborate with Leads and Management to accomplish daily tasks.

Cook Operator

Pay: $31.20 per hour plus Shift Differential: $1.00 per hour (After 8PM)

Shift & Working Hours: 2nd Shift; 3:00PM to 1:00AM Weekends/Overtime/Holidays as needed.

The Cook is responsible for assisting production with kettle preparation, cooking, completing checklist/reports, providing filling machines with the necessary amount of product, observing all safety rules, ensuring quality and efficiencies. Responsible for ensuring operational compliance to all food safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make the correct Kettle pipe connections after Sanitation is complete.
  • Wash Kettles when necessary during change over or at the end of the day.
  • Assemble product pump after sanitation is complete.
  • Fill out temperature Chart Recorder.
  • Verify and Approve weighted ingredients from the Batch Maker prior to Kettle Additions.
  • Process products in accordance with company specified procedure. Monitor cooking pressure, temperature, and duration.
  • Pull samples and bring to QC station to be checked for quality assurance.
  • Immediately notify supervisor if any discrepancy is found during the procedure, flip trays in chillers when needed.
  • Wash kettles during change over and at the end of the day.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area
  • Collaborates and follows the instructions of Leads and Management to accomplish daily work assignments
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Experience and Skills
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • 1 year or more of work experience in any industry
  • Basic computer and math skills• Able to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve and troubleshoot
  • Strong collaboration, communication skills, and is always respectful
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ year of manufacturing work experience
  • Machine operation and/or forklift experience
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
  • Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
  • Working in temperature zones that include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include areas where dust and chemicals are present
