Job description

Where Desert Heat Meets Culinary Craft

Picture this: towering palms, a sprawling seven-acre water park just beyond the kitchen doors, and the Phoenix skyline shimmering in the distance. At Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, the Oasis isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a destination within a destination, where poolside energy meets serious culinary ambition. This is your invitation to be part of it.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a skilled line cook who treats every plate like a performance. Someone who understands that in the Valley of the Sun, where four-diamond standards meet resort-casual cool, precision and passion go hand in hand. You’ll be at the heart of the action — prepping, plating, and perfecting dishes that keep guests coming back from the lazy river to the dinner table.

What You’ll Bring to the Line
  • A command of culinary fundamentals — sauces, stocks, and the techniques that separate good food from unforgettable food.
  • An eye for quality that never compromises, from ingredient selection to final plating.
  • The stamina to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, including the ability to move supplies, maintain equipment, and keep your station spotless and up to health code.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, high-heat environment — both literally and figuratively.
  • A sharp sense of consistency, ensuring every dish mirrors the standard recipe and the resort’s reputation.
Qualifications Worth Mentioning
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary apprenticeship a strong plus.
  • Prior cooking experience preferred.
  • Maricopa County Food Service Worker card required.
  • Basic math skills for recipes, measurements, and portioning.
  • Ability to memorize and execute Resort Standards, AAA Diamond expectations, and Mystery Shopper benchmarks.
The Setting

Nestled against South Mountain, Arizona Grand Resort & Spa offers more than a workplace — it’s a community built on hospitality, craftsmanship, and Phoenix’s signature blend of desert serenity and urban energy. Here, your work ethic is matched by the beauty of your surroundings, and every shift is a chance to contribute to something guests will remember long after their tans fade.

If you’re ready to bring your knife skills, your drive, and your love of great food to one of Phoenix’s most iconic resorts, we’d love to meet you.

The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa’s leaders and associates believe each guest should be treated with respect and professionalism. We create a genuine experience, enticing our guests to return again and again. In order to be successful at The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, associates must share both our Purpose (Making Space for Genuine Hospitality) and Pillars (Hands On & Heartfelt, Sincere & Focused, Collaborative & Curious, and Conscientious). This includes possessing and demonstrating a high level of courtesy and respect for both internal and external guests. Our fun, friendly and enthusiastic associates treat every guest as if they were our only guest. A true customer focus is essential to success with our property.
