Key duties include following recipes, preparing and delivering meals, assisting room service, completing logs, and upholding sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes, production sheets, and meal schedules.
  • Taste and monitor food quality to ensure consistency and compliance with hospital standards.
  • Prepare, garnish, and deliver food items to designated locations throughout the facility.
  • Assist with room service operations as needed.
  • Read, interpret, and adjust recipes using conversion charts to increase or decrease portions.
  • Complete production sheets, temperature logs, and food safety documentation.
  • Follow food production standards regarding handling techniques, storage procedures, and food temperatures.
  • Maintain assigned work areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
  • Complete daily sanitation and cleaning tasks according to schedules and department standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, clients, and co-workers.
  • Adhere to all sanitation, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned by management.

Legacy Staffing has partnered with a world-class hospital system in Cleveland, OH to hire a Cook. This is a Day Shift opportunity with a starting pay rate of $16.00/hour based on experience and skill level. This role focuses on food preparation, meal production, quality control, customer service, and maintaining food safety standards in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes, production sheets, and meal schedules.
  • Taste and monitor food quality to ensure consistency and compliance with hospital standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous food service, cooking, restaurant, cafeteria, hospital, or institutional cooking experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or high-volume food service environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to push, pull, and move carts weighing up to 350 pounds.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to twist, stoop, bend, and squat frequently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Approximately 45% standing and 45% walking during the workday.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Available Shifts:
  • Day Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Day Shift: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends required
  • Swing position based on departmental staffing needs
