Job Summary

• Prepares assigned items according to standardized recipes, including vegetables, roasting, baking, broiling, and frying entrees. Prepares breakfast hot foods and sandwiches. Sets up tray-line. Slices meats and pre-portioning necessary items. Maintains all hot production areas and equipment in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.
• Performs all preparation as assigned, primarily involving entrees, vegetables, slicing meats and cheeses, and pre-portioning. Ensures 100% compliance with tested and standardized recipes. Properly labels, dates, and rotates all stock.
• Checks foods prepared for taste, texture, appearance, temperature, and quality throughout the process. Practices Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point procedures.
• Maintains food production storage areas, preparation areas, and equipment in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.
• Sets up entree and vegetable soup station on the tray assembly line and checks temperatures.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of cooking experience in all hot production areas.
• At least 1 year of experience in cold food preparation.
• At least 1 year of experience in volume cooking.
• Culinary school diploma with high-volume cooking experience (commercial or institutional).
• Preferred: Over 2 years of experience in large-volume production; 1 year of experience in training and supervising staff.

Education or Equivalent Experience

• H.S. Diploma/GED
• Vocational/Trade Diploma

This position is eligible for a one-time sign-on bonus of $1,000.
