Job description

Perkins Management Services is looking for hard working, energetic people to join our culinary team as cooks. At PMSC you’ll enjoy an improved quality of life that’s unique in the hospitality industry. We are currently looking for experienced cooks to join our team.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience, enjoys working in a busy environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the executive chef to produce diversified menus in accordance with the client and company’s policy and vision.
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
  • Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved.
  • Produce high quality dishes that follow the established menu and meet the location’s standards, as well as the clients’ requirements.
  • Ensure hygiene and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation, from ingredients to the finished dish.
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
Qualifications

A successful applicant must have the following:

  • 2+ years experience as a cook in the food industry.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and the ability to pass food safety exams and/or trainings.
  • Must have a team player attitude, be dependable, reliable, and respectful; exemplify leadership qualities and professionalism with excellent customer service skills.
  • Physical Demands: Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work, such as agility, dexterity, and long periods of walking, standing, bending, carrying, or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 20 pounds or more.
