Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is hiring a Cook I–III in Anchorage to prepare meals in the Food and Nutrition Services Department, ensuring high-quality and appetizing dishes prepared according to recipes and safety guidelines. The role requires following established guidelines and collaborating with the team to deliver patient and guest meals with care.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation.
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operating.
  • Multitasking across kitchen roles.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Problem solving under pressure.
  • Ability to follow written recipes and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares meal ingredients as directed by manager.
  • Prepares items following established recipes and portion guidelines.
  • Communicates portion information to servers as needed.
  • Follows all department food handling, food safety, and storage policies.
  • Maintains clean, neat, organized and sanitized workstations.
  • Interacts with guests in serving areas in a positive and welcoming manner.
  • Reports feedback to leadership on issues related to quality, safety, or equipment.
  • Attends training programs as assigned.
  • Schedules include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Complies with local, state, and federal health, safety, and sanitation rules and ANTHC policies.
  • Supports duties such as operating the dish machine, washing wares, receiving freight, and inventory of ingredients.
