Job summary

Turning Point of Central California, Inc. is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals in compliance with all health guidelines. You will develop menus, maintain inventory, and ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.

The role requires 1 year of culinary experience and a California Food Handlers Card, with responsibilities spanning purchasing, storage, and occasional resident assistance. On-site work and driving may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of culinary work experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• California Food Handlers Card required.
• CPR/first aid training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals per approved menus and portions.
• Develop menus meeting nutritional standards and obtain pre-approval.
• Conduct daily safety and sanitation inspections of kitchen and storage areas.
• Maintain kitchen and eating areas in line with health requirements.
• Manage inventory and weekly purchases according to budget.
• Label and store food items per health guidelines.
• Taste test meals and reserve samples for 24 hours to check contamination.
• Follow safety procedures for knives and equipment.
• Drive on Agency business as needed.
• Assist residents with food preparation when required.
