Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a Cook II for Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center, Benchmark Hospitality. The role covers Banquet, Market, Albero, and Ember kitchens in a high-volume setting with diverse menus.

Responsibilities include prep, line, and kitchen support; shifts include 1st and 2nd. Pay is $20.25 per hour. Benefits, 401k, and tuition reimbursement are offered. Location: Westlake, Texas, at Deloitte University.

Qualifications

• Two years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen is required.
• Culinary school preferred.
• Basic Food Safety certification required within 30 days of starting position.

• Receiving and put away food requisitions checking quality and amount.
• Inspect refrigeration and dry storage for proper handling and rotation.
• Ensure stations are set up, clean, and properly stored at end of shift.

What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do

The Cook II is a mid-level cook that will be responsible for a variety of cooking methods and cuisines and will assist in all areas of the kitchen – prep, line, grille, sauté and more. This position may work in:

• Banquet Kitchen – High volume kitchen which serves our ballrooms, coffee break stations, and Associate Cafeteria.
• Market Restaurant – World fair cuisine, featuring a buffet-style market that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Albero Restaurant – Classic Italian Cuisine, featuring family style dining for lunch & la carte dining for dinner.
• Ember Restaurant - Latin Steakhouse flare and flavors offering a light breakfast but featuring family style dining for lunch and a la carte dining for dinner.
• Status: Full Time
• Availability: 1st shift & 2nd shift
• Pay Rate: $20.25 per hour

Essential Functions

• Prepare food and menu items according to standard recipes.
• Receiving and put away food requisitions checking for food products quality and amount.
• Inspect all refrigeration and dry storage for proper handling and rotation.
• Ensure that the stations are set up for service but also clean and that all food items are properly covered and stored at the end of shift.
• Ensure that kitchen stations and functions are properly broken down and those reusable items are returned to the main kitchen and put on proper shelf.
• Assist in other kitchens within the hotel, as needed. This may include assisting in Banquets, buffet restaurants, a la carte restaurants, or social venues.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications

• Two years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen is required. A la carte kitchen experience preferred.
• Current internal employees with less than two years of experience may be considered if they can demonstrate proficiency in the essential functions of the Cook II role through successful job performance, completion of relevant training, food safety knowledge, and satisfactory supervisory assessment.
• Culinary school preferred.
• Experience in a kitchen with guest contact, scratch cooking, high volume highly preferred.
• Above average knife skills.
• Basic Food Safety certification required within 30 days of starting position required.
