Highgate Hotels is hiring a Cook for the Renaissance Las Vegas to prepare all food items for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria, and Banquets according to standardized recipes. The role requires maintaining cleanliness, safety, and cost efficiency while providing an appealing product.

The Cook will follow hotel standards, work cross-functionally with other kitchen stations, and assist during banquets and daily service. Flexibility for long hours and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; culinary experience required.
  • Flexible hours and long shifts may be required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of menus and hotel kitchen standards.
  • Proficiency in charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sauté, braising, roasting and par-cooking.
  • Knowledge of herbs and spices and their proper use.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook items according to standardized recipes for the Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and storage areas.
  • Prepare buffet items and display according to hotel standards.
  • Assist in banquet events and Employee Cafeteria as needed.
  • Follow health department regulations and safety procedures in all tasks.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain a "Clean As You Go" policy.
  • Support other kitchen stations when needed.
