Hollywood Casino Joliet is seeking a qualified cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare meats, entrees, soups, and other dishes using multiple cooking methods and ensure timely plating to meet guest expectations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 2–3 years of experience in food preparation, is able to speak English, and adheres to safety and cleanliness standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and thorough knowledge of cooking techniques.
• 2–3 years of experience in food preparation preferred.
• Must be able to understand and speak the English language.
• Must be 18 years of age or over.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook foods such as meats, entrees, soups, and other dishes of medium complexity according to standard recipes.
• Transports, dishes up, plates, and presents food for menus including broiling, roasting, sautéing, poaching, braising, boiling, and ala minute cooking.
• Oversees activities of Cook III’s and maintains a clean food preparation area.
• Provides a high level of customer service and promotes a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for guests and team members.
• Checks and ensures adequate supply of foods and seasonings.
• Follows sanitation procedures as instructed by the local health department.
