Job summary

BayCare in Riverview, FL, seeks a full-time Cook at St. Joseph's South Hospital to nourish patients, visitors, and team members with nutritious meals.

The role includes varied shifts, weekend work every other, and collaboration with clinical staff to maintain high culinary standards. Responsibilities include preparing foods from standardized recipes, performing quality checks on safety, temperature, and presentation, and training staff in food production and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Required: 4 years as a Cook / 2 years with high school Diploma or Culinary Diploma.
• Preferred: 2 years in Healthcare.
• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation of foods according to the standardized recipes, and production methods.
• Ensures high quality using safe, sanitary food handling techniques during preparation, service and storage and daily quality control checks.
• Works multiple production stations and conducts quality control checks on taste, temperature and presentation on patient, cafeteria, and catering foods.
• Trains and orients selected staff on food production along with safety and sanitation practices.
• Leads production in absence of Executive Chef according to facility.
• Performs other duties as necessary.
