Job summary

Hotel Paseo, Autograph Collection in Palm Desert, seeks a Cook II to uphold quality and consistency in station-specific items, manage storage, portions, stocks and sauces.

You will maintain cleanliness, operate equipment safely, and follow recipe specs, with 1–2 years of kitchen experience and ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Part of the Milwaukee-based Marcus Hotels & Resorts portfolio, HOTEL PASEO offers guests a distinctive desert retreat featuring 150 thoughtfully designed guest rooms and suites, many showcasing breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains and palm-lined landscape. What you will be doing:

• Prepare station-specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Monitor product storage, portion sizes, and special items like stocks and sauces.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas to meet Health Department regulations.
• Ensure equipment is clean, sanitized, and operational.
• Uphold high standards of food production and presentation.
• Maintain personal hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Manage station setup, breakdown, and prep work.
• Follow recipe specifications for all food preparation.

What we are looking for:

• Previous cooking experience required, 1-2 years in a similar position preferred, Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods, work in a confined space with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions, and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
• Ability to obtain any local, state or federal license or certification for sanitation, liquor service, or food service certification.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
