Job Requirements:

Description: Do you strive to set yourself apart with gracious service and impeccable style? Are you passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to guests in a premier luxury hotel in downtown Milwaukee? If so, The Pfister is looking for a Cook II to join our team and continue its iconic legacy. As a Cook II, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality control of items prepared.

The Pfister Hotel, built in 1893, has been a Milwaukee icon for nearly 130 years. Recognized as one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, it maintains a tradition of gracious service and style. The hotel has received AAA Four Diamond status for 46 consecutive years, one of only 11 properties in North America to do so since 1976.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare station-specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Monitor product storage, portion sizes, and special items like stocks and sauces.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization to meet Health Department regulations.
  • Ensure equipment is clean, sanitized, and operational.
  • Uphold high standards of food production and presentation.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Manage station setup, breakdown, and prep work.
  • Follow recipe specifications for all food preparation.
Qualifications:
  • Previous cooking experience required; 1-2 years preferred.
  • Culinary or apprenticeship program preferred.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Must own a set of knives.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in high-noise, confined, and temperature-variable environments.
  • Ability to obtain necessary local, state, or federal licenses or certifications.
  • Must join H.E.R.E. Local 122 union.
